Spring is in the air and this Tawny Frog Mouth family sit perched upon a Bottle Brush as the sun sets.
This family almost lost their young one when it fell from the tree and was found some meters away helpless. Ben, a thoughtful passerby, called W.I.R.E.S and I accompanied them out to the initial rescue. Luckily its parents were spotted, as they are highly camouflaged, and it was placed back into the tree.
Three days later I returned to check on its progress and took these photos. Happily the young fledgling was doing much better, under the care of it’s parents.
Mom and Dad are feeding Junior up well, he’s the same size with a fluffier coat. Hasn’t managed the Raptor eyes quite yet.
I adore those tawny frogmouths!
